Jason Pond, RPF

Jason PondJason completed a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of New Brunswick in 1997 and has completed several courses towards an MBA at Royal Roads University. He is a Registered Professional Forester in British Columbia (on leave) and Newfoundland and Labrador.
Following university graduation, Jason worked in various capacities (silviculture forester, GIS Analyst, timber supply analyst) in British Columbia and Ontario before joining the Government of Newfoundland Labrador in 1999. Since moving back to the province, he has held various positions including decision support specialist, woodsupply analyst and regional ecosystem forester. He is currently the District Manager at the Bishop’s Falls’ district office, a position he has held since 2009.
Jason has been actively promoting the forestry profession in the province and devoted an extensive amount of time working on the professional forester legislation. In 2008, Jason was the Chair of the Canadian Federation of Professional Forester Associations (CFPFA) and continues to represent RPFNL’s interests at the national level as a member of the CFPFA. The passing of the provincial Foresters Act formerly recognizing RPFNL in 2011 has been a highlight of his professional career.
