Laurie Holloway became a member of the Association of Registered Professional Foresters of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2009 and elected to council in 2014. She spent two terms as CIF liaison before volunteering to sit on the Communications committee. She holds a Bachelor and Master degree of Science in Forestry from the University of New Brunswick. Her graduate work included developing improved nursery culture for the production of rooted cuttings of Canada Yew (Taxus Canadensis). She worked with Sylvar Technologies, Inc. a bio-rational company in Fredericton New Brunswick as a lab technologist and moved home to Newfoundland for employment with the Newfoundland and Labrador, Forestry and Agrifoods Agency, Forestry Services in 2007. As a Conservation Officer with the Forest Service she has worked in the provincial tree nursery and several district offices in eastern region and regional office, specializing in geographic information systems. Laurie is a mother of two girls and enjoys boating, snowmobiling and skiing and is a hobby photographer.
