Tanya Schlossek graduated from the University of New Brunswick, Bachelor of Science in Forestry and Environmental Management degree program with a minor in Parks and Wilderness Reserves in 2000. She is also a Registered Professional Forester in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador and an active member of the NL section of the Canadian Institute of Forestry and the Forests without Borders program. Over the past 15 years Tanya has worked predominately for the Government Newfoundland and Labrador, Forestry Services, holding various positions including: Nursery Worker, Forester, District Manager, and currently Regional Ecosystem Planner. Tanya took a year and a half leave from the Forest Service to pursue career opportunities with the Nunatsiavut Government as the Director of Renewable Resources, managing their forest, wildlife and fish resources. Over all Tanya’s resource background is well rounded including operational experience, being a member and co-chair of numerous forest management planning teams, and participating in review and development of Provincial level policy and guidelines. Tanya currently lives in Happy Valley – Goose Bay, Labrador with her husband and son and enjoys sports and spending time with friends and family, especially at the cabin.
