Log a Load Charity Hockey Tournament

Feb. 5, 2016

Log a Load    Janeway

Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Woodlands department is currently organizing the 12th annual Log a Load for Kids Charity Hockey Tournament to be held on February 5 & 6, 2016 at the Hodder Memorial Recreation Complex in Deer Lake, Newfoundland.

Log A Load For Kids Canada, an initiative of the Canadian Woodlands Forum, is a national giving campaign through which loggers and other forest industry people donate the value of a load of logs, or any amount, to local Children’s Miracle Network-affiliated hospital foundations and organize related fundraising events. One hundred percent of all contributions go to local CMN Canada hospital foundations – the proceeds from this Hockey Tournament will go to the Janeway Children’s Hospital.

The 11th annual event in 2015 raised over $ 57,000 for contribution to the Janeway; to date approximately $335,000 has been raised. The weekend tournament will see Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Woodlands’ staff, contractors and employees, employees of the Department of Natural Resources and friends play for the Log A Load Challenge Cup donated by Northwest Forest Resources Limited.

Each team is required to pay a $350 registration fee and each player must collect a minimum of $100 in pledges (Receipts will be issued for a minimum donation of $15.00 and will not be provided unless requested. A receipt can only be issued when mailing address is complete and clear). Prizes are awarded to individuals who collect the most money in pledges. On behalf of the competing teams, any support you could provide for prizes or any help for this cause would be greatly appreciated. The opportunity to have good prizes to recognize individual fundraising efforts has helped to make the fundraising effort a real success.

Thank-you for your support and have a great day.
